Good afternoon! The Goodridge School District is asking all parents in the district who have not filled out a free and reduced lunch application this year to do so asap, specifically on or before Thursday, September 30th. Even if you do not qualify, receiving your application helps us narrow down our list of applicants. Also, even though breakfast and lunch is free for all, we are still required by the State to collect applications. The reason we are sending this as an instant alert is because we are severely behind on the amount of Free and Reduced Lunch Applications that we have received this year. Historically we have about 50% of our families qualify for free and reduced lunch, but currently we are only at 29% of our families qualifying. The district usually receives about $130,000 in compensatory funding annually (based on about 50% of our families qualifying for free and reduced lunch), not to mention all the grants we are eligible for due to having a high free and reduced percentage. We need to get the number of free and reduced qualifications up so that we do not lose this funding or grant status. Money that we receive from our free and reduced percentages goes directly back into the classroom for our students. You can fill out an online application using this link: https://www.lunchapplication.com. We are also sending forms home with all elementary students tomorrow. You can fill out a form and give it to your child’s teacher Wednesday or Thursday. You may fill out a free and reduced lunch application and qualify at any time of the year, but September 30th is an important benchmark for our Free and Reduced Status. Thanks for your help on this urgent matter. Please call the school if you have any questions. Thanks, Tom Loberg, Superintendent

Thanks so much to Brent, Travis, and Drew from BNE Tackle for coming in today and teaching our Summer Rec kids how to make fishing lures, boat safety, and how to tell a good fish story. They are all ready for fishing this summer. Thanks again BNE Tackle!
